Snowdrop History

Catherine in the snowdrop wood by Cambo burn
The estate has been in the Erskine family since the 1600's but it
was the grandmother of the current owner, Peter Erskine, who planted
the snowdrops and Catherine, Peter's wife, who set up the mail order
business selling 'snowdrops in the green' in 1986 having read articles recommending planting snowdrops in leaf rather than the traditional
dried bulbs in autumn. The business was first recommended by
Gardening Which as 'Best Supplier of Bulbs in the Green' in 1998, is
continuously receiving accolades for quality of product and service
and now receives orders and enquiries for snowdrops, snowflakes and aconites from all over the world.

We are delighted to announce that we have now been granted National Collection status for our collection of over 200 varieties of snowdrops.
